Mission Statement:
To glorify God by making disciples of Jesus through declaring and displaying the gospel
A mission statement describes the God-given task of the church. We believe that God has told us what the mission of the church is in Matthew 28:19-20. In that passage Jesus tells his disciples to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Our mission statement includes the what, the why, and the how of the church’s mission. The “what” is to make disciples of Jesus, the “why” is for the glory of God, and the “how” is by declaring and displaying the gospel.
Vision Statement:
To see God transform a body of believers into the image of Jesus so that our neighbors and the nations might worship him forever
God not only has something for the church to do but also something for the church to become. God’s “vision” for the church is that we are to “grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ” (Eph. 4:15, see also Rom. 8:29, 2 Cor. 3:18, 1 John 2:6, 3:2)
Our task is to make disciples and the goal of being a disciple is to worship Jesus and become like Him.
Core Values:
#1 - Joyful Worship
God is seeking worshipers (John 4:23) and we want to be a church that finds its greatest joy in worshiping and glorifying God.
#2 - Gospel Centrality
Romans 1:16 says that “the gospel is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes…” and so we want to be a church that has the gospel of Jesus Christ at the center of everything we are and everything we do.
#3 - Doctrinal Depth
We want to be a church that pursues a deeper knowledge of God and His word so that we can love him and others more.
#4 - Mission & Multiplication
We want to be a church that is on mission to multiply disciples, missionaries, pastors, and churches. We want to encourage and equip every Christian to be a disciple-maker.
#5 - Gospel Family
A common image of the church in the Bible is the family of God. We want to be a church where people are known, loved, and cared for as a spiritual family.
#6 - Persistent Prayer
We want to be a church that continually and persistently seeks God through dependent and believing prayer.
#7 - Christ-like Character
We want to be a church that reflects the character of our Lord Jesus in all things.
